This publication includes famous musical numbers from Tchaikovsky's ballet «The Nutcracker», arranged for accordion duet by Ihor Sayenko. These four pieces - «March», «Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy», «Trepak» and «Waltz of The Flowers» - can be performed separately or as a cycle. To achieve similarity to the original sound of the orchestra, Sayenko carefully choose the registers on the right hand and good use the possibility of manual on the left hand. Although it is his first printed publication, Igor Sayenko has significant experience in musical adaptations, transcriptions etc.

Famous accordion quartet «Rizol Quartet» of the National Philharmonia of Ukraine has been performing his arrangements for several years. Sayenko took the lead of this quartet in 2016 after the retirement of his conservatoire teacher Serhiy Hrinchenko. Numerous arrangements for accordion and violin have appeared as a result of Sayenko's collaboration with violinist Myroslava Kotorovych and «Artehatta» chamber ensemble. This set of arrangements of Tchaikovsky's pieces is just a small part of Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoets duet's («Kyiv Classic Accordion Duo») repertoire. I hope that this publication can be the beginning of the printed history of the duet's creative heritage. Taking into account its artistic value, this publication will surely attract interest of accordion players, students of music schools and academies, and all of those who are fond of the accordion art.
